GENERAL DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Valorem is seeking a Director of Immersive Experiences to lead an interdisciplinary team of 3D developers and 3D designers/artists/animators, working on state of the art extended reality (VR/AR/MR) application experiences for various enterprise customers, across numerous industry verticals.

 

Candidates must have a deep knowledge of cutting edge extended reality devices and platform technologies such as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear, Apple ARKit, Google ARCore and Daydream. Candidates will serve as visionary lead for the immersive team, and must have proven experience leading teams designing and building application experiences for Microsoft’s Windows Mixed Reality platform, with its revolutionary HoloLens device and OEM Windows Mixed Reality headsets.

 

Qualified candidates will have a robust technical background in 3D computer graphics working with 3D engines (Unity or Unreal preferred), but also a passion for UX design and engineering combined. The candidate must have proven management skills leading teams of 10+ individuals, providing coaching and mentoring, developing healthy working relationships, providing strategy and direction, and maintaining high client satisfaction. Candidates will also work closely with our sales team representing the company, participating in pre-sales activities, and presenting our innovative immersive experience offerings to end clients, while interacting directly with client stakeholders once a project is underway.

 

Day-to-day responsibilities will include leading the Immersive Experiences team, and requires a broad and deep business and technical capability to map a client's problem domain to a fully developed end-state solution. This requires a technically strong leader who is resourceful, communicates well, has excellent problem-solving skills, and a vision for the Immersive Experiences practice team within Valorem. Such leaders should be able to challenge and help the team to achieve their best, helping Valorem to deliver the most innovative extended reality solutions in the industry.

 

The candidate will also be responsible for driving the immersive team’s consulting business, ensuring a healthy chargeability across the team. Candidates may also be responsible for managing subcontractor and/or freelance design resources to assist with other facets of our user experience engagements.

 

The position will be based in Seattle, where most of the immersive team members reside.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering
  • MBA is a plus
  • Expert knowledge of 3D computer graphics

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and drive or ride in a motor vehicle.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.  Must have the ability to travel, sometimes with short notice.
