General Description & Responsibilities

The Director, PMO will be responsible for leading the PMO by providing leadership, organization and coordination to develop and support the PMO key activities, encompassing program planning, governance and project management. The role is also responsible for developing a robust and flexible project and program methodology for use throughout the organization, as well as effective project and program delivery and project prioritization and pipeline management. 

The Director will do this by:   

  • Managing company project portfolio (reporting on project analysis, project execution, project delivery) 
  • Monitoring delivery and impacts to client experience 
  • Partnering with other directors and managers to develop project and program resourcing strategies to ensure optimum support for projects within budget allocations 
  • Ensuring the effective utilization of resources across the organization, including reporting, forecasting, capacity planning 
  • Developing and maintaining a basic understanding of customer policies and procedures as relevant to processes 

In addition, the Director will; 

  • Manage customer satisfaction (including surveys and feedback) 
  • Manage internal 360 feedback process 

It is the Director, PMO responsibility to ensure that their team drives and delivers world class Project Management services within a fast growing organization, to assist the company scale to maximum potential and create a platform and ecosystem to service clients. 

The Director will have the following key areas of responsibilities  

  • Source of guidance and advice for department managers and project managers 
  • Ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget 
  • Participates in new business development by working with Director of Engineering, Account Executives, Account Managers, potential customers, and individual team members to ensure the accuracy, applicability and success of proposal efforts 
  • Effective tracking and communication of project status and metrics, dashboards 
  • Provide input on resource planning and forecasting in the development of project teams 
  • Support the creation and improvement of standards, processes, procedures, and tools 
  • Manage closed project artifacts to be used for historical reference for sizing project in pipeline, reuse and audit purposes 
  • Maintain defined standards for project management within the organization 
  • Manage change and promote the continuous improvement of project management related processes 
  • Share lessons learned and best practices across programs, building relationships with stakeholders and brokering relationships at all levels 
  • Provide guidance on training and development opportunities, memberships, certifications and designations

While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and drive or ride in a motor vehicle.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.  Must have the ability to travel, sometimes with short notice.
