Kansas City, Missouri Operations - Tech Ops Full Time

Under the administrative direction of the SVP, Operations, is responsible for administrative, professional leadership, and managerial work, and direction of the Technical Services Department that supports the organization. This role will also be responsible for ensuring the company adheres to legal standards and in-house policies related to compliance and security matters, as well as providing guidance on such matters.
 
This position oversees the IT systems and technology for Valorem and will develop short and long-range plans and strategies to implement new and emerging technology to provide the necessary data capabilities required to conduct the organizations business effectively and efficiently. In addition, directs the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs to protect the organization data, software, and systems from unauthorized modification, destruction, disclosure and operational compliance. 

General Description & Responsibilities

  • Oversee all technology operations and evaluating them according to established goals 
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management 
  • Analyzes complex business needs presented by the users and/or clients and recommends technical solutions 
  • Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions. 
  • Directs daily operations as well as lead internal initiatives and projects   
  • Directs and prioritizes the work load of direct reports 
  • In conjunction with the SVP Operations, develop procurement strategy (hardware/software); inventory and asset management, forecasting  
  • Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating effective and efficient contracts 
  • Stay apprised of modern strategies, new technologies and relevant policies 
  • Developing and overseeing control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies
  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously
  • Assess the business’s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks
  • Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control
  • Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate

  • Proven experience as compliance manager (audit background preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry’s standards and regulations
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of O365 and modern architecture
