At Valorem Reply we are hiring a Google Cloud: Operations Engineer to join our team. In this role you will work in a team responsible for building and maintaining the operating environment for one of our client’s international eCommerce solution. You are a self-starter, proactive, eager to learn and contribute and have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain the operating environment for the client's international eCommerce solution, leveraging tools like Jenkins, Terraform, and Kubernetes.

Collaborate with the Development and Quality Assurance teams to establish and maintain development and test environments.

Design and implement infrastructure using GCP (Google Cloud Platform) to ensure robustness and scalability.

Create and maintain tools to support application development, deployment, and ensure 24x7 service availability.

Respond to service requests and work with the Global eCommerce team to resolve issues affecting the availability, security, performance, and capacity of the international eCommerce solution.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology; MIS, Computer Science, or related field

5 Years of experience in system operations in a multi-server environment.

Proficiency with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) for infrastructure deployment and maintenance. (experience using Azure is also beneficial but not necessary).

Knowledge of one or more of Linux, Java, or Relational Database Management systems (particularly MySQL).

Comfortable using Google office products, including email, spreadsheets, documents, and presentations.

Strong foundational knowledge in Kubernetes and Jenkins for production-level application deployments.

Experience with eCommerce platforms, particularly SAP Commerce.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, and other technologies for running large production applications in containers.

Experience with Atlassian tools (including JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Bamboo).

In-depth knowledge of principles of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices.

Familiarity with the SAP Commerce platform (hybris).

Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code practices.

Demonstrated ability to research and introduce new technologies, practices, and techniques; showcasing a commitment to continuous learning.

Familiar with SonarQube, Helm Charts, and PostgreSQL
